The story

Embercrest Industries is our sister company, a family-owned precision CNC machining and manufacturing shop. It needed more than a brochure: a store for stock items, a way to quote custom parts, and an admin the shop can run day to day.

What we built

  • A content-managed site: pages, portfolio, team, services and equipment, FAQ and hero images, all edited in the admin.
  • An online store with product variants, photos, product videos transcoded with ffmpeg, digital downloads and coupons.
  • Stripe Checkout with webhooks and reconciliation, and Stripe Tax support for sales tax.
  • Live UPS shipping rates and label purchase through Shippo, with orders marked shipped on the first carrier scan.
  • A quote pipeline for custom parts: request, pricing, deposits and balances, with an email to the customer on every status change.
  • A customer CRM, two-factor sign-in with passkeys, and Quo phone contact sync with call history on each customer record.

How it is built

Django with django-unfold for the admin, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery and Celery Beat, Resend for email and Sentry for errors. GitLab CI builds the images and deploys them to Kubernetes, with nightly encrypted backups of the database and media.
